Baby bodysuits do two jobs: they act as a standalone top in warm weather and as a base layer that stays tucked in under everything else. A good bodysuit stays snapped, stays soft through repeated washing, and does not turn scratchy after 20 cycles of washing and drying.
Short vs Long Sleeve
Short sleeve bodysuits are the most versatile option year-round. In summer they work alone over a nappy. In winter they layer cleanly under trousers, dungarees, or rompers without riding up or bunching. Long sleeve bodysuits provide more warmth as a base layer in cooler months.
Fabric
Two fabric options: organic cotton (180-200 GSM, OEKO-TEX certified) and a 70% bamboo / 30% organic cotton blend. Organic cotton is soft, breathable, and handles stain-removal well. The bamboo-cotton blend is smoother and more moisture-wicking — a good choice for babies who sweat during sleep or who have sensitive or eczema-prone skin. Both are pre-shrunk and free from harmful dyes.
Snap Closure Design
3-snap crotch closures for fast nappy changes. Newborn and 0-3M sizes include either shoulder snaps or an envelope neckline — both make getting a bodysuit on a newborn much simpler than a standard pull-over opening. From 3-6M onwards, a regular crew neck opening is practical.
Sizing
Sized by weight and height: NB, 0-3M, 3-6M, 6-12M, 12-18M, 24M. A bodysuit that snaps tightly at the crotch is too small — size up.
