What Unisex Sizing Really Means

Most unisex t-shirts are cut using men's body measurements as the base, with a slightly looser fit through the torso than a standard men's fitted tee. The chest width, shoulder width, body length, and sleeve length are all proportioned for male body measurements. This means women who wear a women's medium will typically need to size down 1-2 sizes in a unisex garment to achieve a similar level of fit. Unisex does not mean the garment was engineered to fit both bodies equally - it means it was designed to be wearable and acceptable by both, with different styling results.

Sizing Guide for Women in Unisex Tees

Women looking for a fitted or close-to-fitted result in a unisex tee should size down 1-2 sizes from their typical women's size. A women's medium typically corresponds to a unisex small or extra small depending on the brand's measurements. Women looking for an intentionally relaxed or oversized look can stay true to their women's size or size up.
