A 50% cotton, 50% polyester crewneck sweatshirt from the Hanes EcoSmart line. The polyester content is partly sourced from recycled material, which means the synthetic component comes from recovered plastic rather than virgin polyester production. It does not change the feel or care of the garment: it changes the source.

The 50/50 blend produces a sweatshirt that dries faster than pure cotton and holds its shape better over years of use. The trade-off compared to higher cotton blends is a slightly drier hand, but the durability is excellent. This is the construction that holds up longest to the repeated washing school-aged kids put their sweatshirts through.
