The Heavyweight Crewneck Sweatshirt is built in 13.5 oz/yd2 three-end fleece — substantially heavier than the 8–10 oz used in most retail sweatshirts, which means it holds its shape through repeated washing and provides warmth without a mid-layer underneath.

Three-end fleece is woven from three interlocked yarn systems: a face yarn (what you see on the outside), a plating yarn (what you feel on the inside), and a binding yarn that locks the two together. This construction produces a denser, more uniform fabric than two-yarn fleece, with a consistent surface that resists pilling and holds its structure at heavier weights. The cross-grain cut orients the fabric panels across the body rather than vertically, which further resists stretching and distortion after washing.

The reverse coverstitch on the hem and cuffs runs the stitch on the inside, leaving a clean exterior seam line without the raised ridge of standard coverstitching. Ribbed cuffs and hem keep their tension after washing.
